Tech Leadership

We are all (young or old alike) going to be leaders at one time or another whether we like it or not. The type of leader you are all depends on how you as a person are received, how you react to others, the training you have had or lack there of and a plethora of other variables that all come together at any given time, at any given day, at any given moment.  So I say, "If you're going to be a leader sooner or later, you might as well be a good one!!"  Here are some insights and guiding techniques to help you be the best leader that you can be.

"Average leaders raise the bar on themselves; good leaders raise the bar for others; great leaders inspire others to raise their own bar." Orrin Woodward

Try following me on Scoop It! It is an amazing site that helps you find many different resources about leadership and many other areas of interest too!  Beware this site will suck you in and like Pinterest it has ways of organizing it into different categories.  Before you start make sure you have plenty of time to explore!

What makes an effective leader?

1."A leader isn't someone who forces others to make him stronger; a leader is someone willing to give his strength to others so that they may have the strength to stand on their own."  Beth Revis
to this I say...A leader is someone who uses a positive influence on his followers to obtain a common, clear goal that is to the benefit of all.

2. "Average leaders raise the bar on themselves; good leaders raise the bar for others: great leaders inspire others to raise their own bar." Orrin Woodward
to this I think...If all leaders could think of themselves last and of their followers first, we could seize the opportunity to obtain this goal.

3. "The challenge of leadership is to be strong but not rude: be kind, but not weak, be bold, but not a bully; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant, have humor, but without folly." Jim Rohn
to this I imagine...a great leader, who has the courage to start from passion and not position, could grasp the skills to be a leader and a hero to all.

Lolly Daskal has a wonderful site that encourages everyone to "Lead from Within".
